The pages are re-encoded from rendered images with the boxes burnt in, so the hidden words are physically gone: nothing can be selected, searched or copied back out of the result, and the original metadata is dropped with it.
Nothing is written until you press the button. Uncheck anything the rules over-caught, drag a box over anything they missed — seals, handwritten signatures, photos — and add your own words to catch every occurrence at once.
Preview result shows the finished pages with the boxes burnt in, exactly as they will be saved. Anything still showing can be painted over right there, then downloaded.
Read before you send anything out. Automatic detection is a first pass, not a guarantee — it is tuned to over-catch rather than miss, and you are expected to review every box on screen. Scanned pages have no text layer, so run OCR (button in the toolbar) or draw the boxes by hand. Word and PowerPoint files should be exported to PDF first.
